Technical Support Engineer : Dublin Our Client is a leading provider of broadband messaging software and develops products for the Broadband and Mobile Carrier and Service Provider markets. Our Dublin office is the largest R+D centre for the company and is the headquarters for Development, Quality Assurance and Program Management. Our Client require a technical support engineer who can respond to customer issues both internal and external but mainly 70% external supporting their bespoke products which include sending SMS and Messaging services. The majority of their customers are Governments, Banks and enterprise companies including RBOS, Inland Revenue and O2, so they expect a fast response. Responsibilities will include: Fault Management * Customer problem diagnosis and replication * Circumvention and/or solution design and testing * Managing the customer fault to resolution process * Maintaining call logs * Providing Engineering with sufficient information to enable them to replicate and fix product defects * Work activity reporting Internal Liaison * Providing a customer view to Engineering Development * Liaison between Customers, Sales Force, Product Management, other Critical Path Support Centres * Involvement with Pre Sales support team * Post Sales support, possibly including customer system design and modification, bug fixing and product maintenance. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team or on their own and be self motivated. Interpersonal skills are a must, they need to use their own initiative to learn and develop and feel comfortable asking for help. Good Understanding of X.500 standards and their use in networking Good Understanding of LDAP and its implementation in networking Good Understanding of system kernel parameters and system tuning Good Understanding of SASL, SSL and security on distributed systems Understanding of how client server applications work Good understanding of shell and perl scripting C, C++ , Java and JSP programming skills *Good Database knowledge of at least one of the following (Lotus Notes, SQL Server, ORACLE, Active Directory Base Salary Holidays: 25 days per annum plus Public Holidays Pension, Medical; Life and Disability Cover Training and Development Stock Options and Bonuses are awarded on a performance basis Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Mon-Thurs; 09:00am - 05:00pm Friday Flexible; Out-going; Good Communicator; Motivated; Pleasant Manner; etc.; Good Health/Sickness Record; Willingness to travel If you think you match these skills please contact JONATHAN O MALLEY on 01 879 4814 or email me at jomalley@allegisgroup.ie .
