£30K - £45K dependant on experience
A major player in the mobile telecoms industry is looking for a Baseband Engineer who has worked in an R&D department but wants to go that one step further. If your skills are understanding HW technologies (analog & digital) / interfaces(I2C,UART,SPI etc) and your able to devise tests to measure performance of HW blocks then we would like to hear from you.
Good usage of Excel and analysing data and reporting. Good documentation skills.
Schematic / Layout Design and experience working on high volume products
Able to work with minimum supervision with attention to detail
Excellent skills with Baseband test equipment - high speed oscilloscopes, logic analysers, signal generators, power supplies, etc. and have a good understanding of signal integrity issues.
Activities: the type of work undertaken is Baseband verification including current measurement, system verification, signal integrity and Interface timing, Component level testing over-voltage and temperature, ESD testing, PWB layout changes, designing test boards and small test circuits, discussing technical issues with vendors, contribution to Project reviews and definition of technical documents.
Preferred skills
Experience in cellular systems (GSM etc)
Bluetooth / FM Radio experience
Mobile handset Baseband testing experience
RF testing & use of RF test equipment
Soldering Skills
Education
HND or Degree
5+ yrs post university/college work experience
HW background. Must have worked in R&D/Lab environment
